Quadcopter Drone

We, at Stratasys, wanted to know if it was possible to create a fully-functioning drone with commercial off-the-shelf electronic hardware embedded during the 3D printing process. We tested it out. Drones are an incredible technology that have been growing in popularity since their inception, and we wanted to know if the manufacturing process could get even more efficient, printing directly to a fully-functioning drone. This whitepaper will chronicle the process we underwent to do that.

Over the next nine pages, we'll discuss adapters, specifically the Futaba R300sb receiver adapter and the Naze32 Acro flight controller adapter. We'll also discuss the process of printing the drone as well as thermal issues we encountered when working on this project. We utilized ULTEM™ 9085 resin as the material that would correlate the best with this project. This whitepaper will delve into the entire process we went through to create a fully-functioning drone the minute it was done being 3D printed. Download the whitepaper to learn about it.
